A grand opening celebration is planned for next Sunday at Cornell Plantations' new Visitor Center.

Sonja Skelly, education director at the plantations, says the new building will make it easier for people who come to Cornell Plantations to access its botanical resources, including 'real live people' who can answer questions about plants and plantings in Central New York climate and conditions.   The grounds are, besides a great way to see planting ideas, a good place for outdoor recreation and 'field trips'.  The visitor center is open Tuesday - Saturday, 11:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m., closed Sunday and Monday (except for the Sunday opening celebration on May 22).
