OSWEGO -- An Oswego woman is accused of trying to kill her husband.

65-year-old Sandra Lee Harrington of 183 East Tenth Street is charged with attempted murder in the second degree, assault in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

Oswego police say around 6:00 p.m. Saturday they responded to the Harrington home and found her husband, 58-year-old James Harrington, had been stabbed. Police say their investigation revealed Sandra Harrington stabbed her husband in the back with a large knife.

Sandra Harrington was taken into custody, charged and brought to the Owego County Correctional Facility in lieu of $100,000 cash bail or $200,000 bond.

James Harrington was taken to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse where he had surgery and is listed in guarded condition.

Police say while the stabbing appears to be the result of a domestic argument, the investigation continues. Anyone with information is asked to call Oswego police at (315) 342-8120. People wishing to remain anonymous can call the tip line at (315) 342-8131.
