SYRACUSE -- Here is this week's advisory for road work and detours in Central New York from the NYS Department of Transportation.

SHORT-TERM PROJECTS : ONONDAGA COUNTY

Bridge Maintenance

Monday, May 16, 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

I-81 Southbound Mainline: Reduced to one lane of travel, right lane closed approaching and crossing under the Sentinel Hieghts bridge prior to Exit 16 (Onondaga Nation).

Bridge Washing

Tuesday, May 17, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

I-81 Southbound Mainline: Reduced to one lane of travel from I-690 to Castle Street.

Bridge Repair

Tuesday, May 17, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

I-690 Westbound Mainline: Reduced to one lane, right lane closed approaching and crossing over the Nine Mile Creek bridge in Lakeland.

Bridge Repair

Wednesday, May 18, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

I-690 Westbound Mainline: Reduced to one lane, left and center lanes closed approaching and crossing over the Jones Road bridge in Lakeland.

Bridge Maintenance

Thursday, May 19, 8:00 to 2:30 p.m.

NY Route 690 Southbound Mainline: Reduced to one lane, left lane closed then shifting over to right lane closed, approaching and crossing over the Route 370/Seneca River bridge in Baldwinsville.

Bridge Repair

Friday, May 20, 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m.

NY Route 690 Southbound Mainline: Reduced to one lane, right lane closed approaching and crossing over the Route 31 bridge in Baldwinsville.    

 LONG-TERM CONTINUOUS PROJECTS -- ONONDAGA COUNTY:

Retaining Wall Repair

Overnight Work: 7 pm. To 6 a.m. weeknights now through Friday Morning, May 20.

I-690 Eastbound Ramp: On-ramp from McBride Street will be closed to all traffic.

Details for signed Detour: East on Route 5 (Erie Blvd) to Teall Ave, left on Teall Ave to I-690 east.

Bridge Repair

Continuous (24 hours a day/7 days a week) now through Friday, June 3, 2011.

U.S. Route 11 Southbound: Right lane closed from Bailey Road to the I-81 northbound off-ramp in Mattydale. Access to I-81 south and access from I-81 north will be maintained.

Bridge Repair

Continuous (24 hours a day/7 days a week) now through Monday, June 13, 2011.

U.S. Route 11 Northbound:   Reduced to two lanes, Left lane closed from Sand Road to the split with South Bay Road in Mattydale at which point there will be a lane shift to a right lane closure which will reduce travel to one lane, approaching and crossing under the I-81  overpass in Mattydale. Access to and from I-81 north will be maintained.

Bridge Repair 

Continuous (24 hours a day/7 days a week) now through June 30, 2011.

N.Y. Route 695 Southbound Ramp: On-ramp from State Fair Blvd. in Lakeland is closed   to all traffic.                                     

Details for the signed Detour follow: Enter I-690 west at State Fair Blvd, proceed west to Exit 5 (State Fair Boulevard/ Van Vleck Road) to I-690 east, then proceed east to Exit 6 (Route 695 southbound).

LONG -TERM CONTINUOUS PROJECTS -- OSWEGO COUNTY  

Bridge Repair

Continuous (24 hours a day/7 days a week) now through approximately June 30, 2011.

I-81 Northbound Mainline: Left lane closed approaching and crossing under the Bartell Road Bridge at Exit 31 (Brewerton) and over the Barge Canal/Oneida Lake Outlet Bridge in Brewerton. Access to and from Exit 31 (Bartell Road-Brewerton) will be maintained.

Bridge Repair

Continuous (24 hours a day/7 days a week) now through approximately June 30, 2011.

I-81 Southbound: Reduced to one lane of travel, left and center lanes closed, approaching and crossing over the Barge Canal/ Oneida Lake Outlet Bridge in Brewerton.

The scheduled road, ramp and lane closures listed above are subject to change due to adverse weather conditions or unforeseen logistical complications. Other lane, ramp or road closures not yet scheduled may occur that do not appear on this report. Motorists are reminded that fines are doubled for speeding in a work zone. In accordance with the Work Zone Safety Act of 2005, convictions of two or more speeding violations in a work zone could result in the suspension of an individual’s driver’s license.
