Letter carriers bring in more food than ever
Saturday's 'Stamp Out Hunger' food drive is going to be a record-setter. They're still counting up donations that were picked up by letter carriers and dropped off at area post offices, but here are some of the early totals:
Colvin substation collected 3,000lbs
Solvay (incl Syr West) 7,800
Franklin Square, Syr 2800
Taft Rd (NSyr/Mattydale) 8800
Oswego 9700
Martville 100 lbs (double last year!)
Auburn 7000
Bayberry 4000
Mallory 100
