UTICA -- A Utica mother facing child endangerment charges for allegedly leaving her 5-month-old baby with a female acquaintance.

Utica police were called to an apartment building at 1508 Whitesboro Street around 12:20 p.m. Sunday.

A woman had called 911 saying 27-year-old Georgetta Rucker, of Wall Street, was in the parking lot when she yelled "Come get your grandson." When the grandmother said she couldn't take the child, police say Rucker told her she would just left them there and then took off.

A short time later, the baby was found in a baby carriage in the lobby with a female acquaintance.

Child Protective Services was notified and is now investigating.
