UTICA -- Utica police are investigating a late night shooting that has left one man dead.

Police say 22-year-old Reginald Davis was shot several times just before midnight Monday on Watson Place near Genesee Street. Police say Davis died from his injuries at 1:10 p.m. Tuesday after undergoing surgery at St. Elizabeth's Hospital for a head injury. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine a cause of death.

Anyone with information should call Utica Police at (315) 223-3510. All calls will be kept confidential.

Police say this is the first homicide in Utica this year.
