MANLIUS -- Manlius Police say a 21-year-old from the Village of Manlius was the driver of the car that flew off Route 92 last Monday.

Witnesses say the car Ross Downing was driving was travelling at a high rate of speed when it went off the road. Investigators say the guardrail vaulted the car into the air, where it flew approximately 100 feet before landing on its side in a ditch.

Downing has not regained consciousness since the crash. He remains in the hospital, and police have not been able to interview him.

Accident reconstruction experts are still completing their report. Police are also waiting for toxicology results.
