Utica police search for driver who hit 4-year-old and took off

UTICA -- A 4-year-old child is recovering after getting hit by a car in Utica. Police are now searching for the driver who took off.

It happened around 12:30 p.m. Tuesday near Mohawk and Elizabeth Streets.

Police say the child ran across the street to a relative and was hit, but they say, the driver didn't stop. There is no word yet on the extent of the child's injuries.

Police are now looking for the man who took off. His vehicle is described as a green car. It was last seen driving east on Elizabeth Street from Mohawk.
