DIX, SCHUYLER CO. (AP) -- Authorities say the brother of a local police chief is among the three men charged with running a large-scale methamphetamine manufacturing operation at rural upstate New York property.

Federal, state and local law enforcement officers early Wednesday morning raided the property in the Schuyler County town of Dix, in the Finger Lakes region 60 miles southwest of Syracuse.

Authorities say they seized more than 450 pounds of methamphetamine oil solution that could have been converted into about 45 pounds of finished meth. One local official called it one of the biggest meth busts in New York state.

Elmira-area television station WENY reports that the three suspects charged with criminal possession of a controlled substance include the 30-year-old brother of Horseheads Village Police Chief Michael Barton. All three suspects are being held in jail.
