A Utica man will spend the rest of his life behind bars.

58-year-old Flay Rood plead guilty to a six-count indictment charging him with child exploitation.

Rood admits to producing sexually explicit images of a 7-year-old boy in January 2005, a 4-year-old boy in January 2008 and a 3-year-old boy in March 2008. He also admits to distributing and attempting to distribute child pornography over the Internet, receiving child pornography over the Internet and possession child pornography he obtained from the Internet.

His arrest stemmed from an investigation by Utica, New York police and the Oneida County District Attorney's Office Child Advocacy Center.

Rood was prosecuted as part of Project Safe Childhood, a nationwide initiative designed to protect children from online exploitation and abuse.
