TOWN OF ORWELL, OSWEGO CO. -- Update, 4:30pm:

Friends of the Cronk family are trying to raise money to give baby Faith a funeral.

Friends say the funeral will cost around $4,500, and the family doesn't have enough money to bury their daughter.

Donations should be sent to the Foster & Hax Funeral Home at 52 Park St. Pulaski, NY.

Update, 5/20:

The mother of the child, Christina Cronk, tells CNYcentral's Jessica Cain the baby's name was Faith. The mother also says she believes the child died of SIDS, Sudden Infant Death Syndrome. The mother also revealed she lost another child 15 years ago.

Cronk says eight children, including Faith, lived in their home.  She says she found Faith Thursday morning, and realized she was not breathing.  She called for help, and her husband did CPR, but Faith did not survive.

The Cronks say they believe this is the second child they had that died of SIDS.  They say they were concerned about Faith and asked for a heart machine for her when she was born, but doctors told them it wasn't necessary.

A relative of the Cronks contacted CNYcentral and expressed concern about the children's welfare.

The Cronks say they have been working with the Department of Social Services, and DSS had promised to help them find a new place to live.

We contacted DSS but have not heard back from them, yet.

Friends of Cronks say they are planning a fundraiser to help the family.

State Police are investigating the death of a 4-month-old baby.

Police responded to an unresponsive baby around 6:12 a.m. Thursday at a home in the Town of Orwell in Oswego County.

The infant was transported to Oswego Hospital and subsequently pronounced dead. Police have not yet said how the baby died.

The investigation continues.
