FLOYD, ONEIDA CO. -- An Oneida County man is under arrest after allegedly stealing from his parents’ home.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff's Office, deputies arrested 21-year-old Michael A. Rixford on Thursday and charged him with second degree burglary and unauthorized use of a motor vehicle. Police say Rixford broke into his parents’ house on New Floyd Road (State Route 365) in the Town of Floyd Thursday evening, and then stole his mother’s car. Rixford’s parents were out visiting family members at the time.

Police say their investigation into the incident led them to Rixford, who was found nearby and arrested without incident.

Rixford was arraigned in Floyd Town Court and sent to the Oneida County Correctional Facility in lieu of $10,000 bail. He is scheduled to return to court at an unspecified date.
