CLAY -- Two people were hurt in a crash on Route 481 near the Onondaga-Oswego County line Tuesday evening.

Onondaga County Sheriff's deputies tell CNYcentral it happened shortly before five o'clock on 481 near Bonstead Road in Clay. An SUV going south on 481 crossed over the median, went airborne, hit a Nissan in the opposite lane, and landed on its roof. The Nissan was pushed off the road. Investigators are still trying to figure out why the SUV crossed over the median.

There were two people in the SUV and one person in the Nissan. One person was airlifted to a Syracuse hospital, but the injuries are not considered life threatening. The driver of the SUV suffered a broken arm.

Our news crew on the scene reports the crash kept traffic backed up for awhile in the area.
