SANGERFIELD, ONEIDA CO. -- A Madison County man is facing charges after police say he was drunk when he crashed his truck.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, deputies were called to the scene of a one car motor vehicle accident on Frog Park Road in the Town of Sangerfield around 11:30 Wednesday night. When police and Waterville Fire Department crews arrived they found a 2011 Dodge Ram had driven off of the road, down an embankment, and into a ditch. The truck rolled over several times before coming to rest on its driver’s side.

Police say they found the driver, 24-year-old Wyatt Owen of Brookfield, at the scene. Owen was taken by ambulance to St. Elizabeth’s Hospital in Utica for minor head injuries.

Owen has been charged with driving while intoxicated and failure to reduce speed at a curve. He is scheduled to appear in Sangerfield Town Court at a later date.
