PULASKI, OSWEGO CO. --
If you're looking to gulp down an ice cold glass of water, look no further than Pulaski.
The Village of Pulaski was recently awarded the bragging rights of having Oswego County's best tasting drinking water. The award was given in an informal contest sponsored by the Oswego County Health Department. Five municipal water districts took part in the 21st annual contest, held May 28th at the Fulton Memorial Day Salute.
People were invited to taste samples of public drinking water and cast their votes for first and second place. When all the votes were tallied, Pulaski was named the winner with 50 points. The village of Mexico placed second with 45 points, followed by Richland with 44, the city of Oswego with 24, and Fulton with 14 points.
Pulaski's water will now be entered in a regional competition. The regional finalists from around the state will compete at the New York State Fair for the state's best-tasting drinking water.
The village of Mexico won that honor, being named the best in the state in 2002 and 1991.
