SCRIBA -- An Oswego woman was ticketed for allegedly ignoring a stop sign and driving into a motorcyclist.

Oswego County Sheriff's deputies ticketed 25-year-old Raychel Kennedy for failing to yield the right of way at a stop sign and aggravated unlicensed operation. The latter charge stems from her license being suspended in July of 2010 for getting into a crash while driving without insurance and for failing to pay a fine earlier this year.

Last Friday, deputies say Kennedy was driving her car on Duke Road in Scriba when she drove through the intersection with State Route 104, slamming into a motorcycle. That driver, 51-year-old Scott Burns, of East Seventh Street in Oswego, was tossed from his bike and landed about 20 yards away. He was airlifted to Upstate University Hospital in Syracuse, where he remains in serious condition.

Kennedy is scheduled to appear in Scriba Town Court on June 30.
