UTICA -- A Utica man is accused of attacking his ex-girlfriend.

Police responded to a domestic dispute at 934 Catherine Street around 10 p.m. Monday.

Police say 23-year-old Courtney Blackshear punched his girlfriend in the face, knocking her to the ground, then got on top of her, choking her.

He is now charged with criminal obstruction of breathing and harassment.
