SYRACUSE -- A man wanted for murder in Syracuse is caught in Massachusetts.
Onondaga County Sheriff's deputies say FBI agents took Emilier Carrasquillo-Fuentes into custody in Springfield, Massachusetts Wednesday morning.
He was arrested on a sealed indictment warrant for his alleged role in a deadly shooting last August.
Luis Quiones was shot and killed outside the Mobil gas station at 631 South Geddes Street on August 21st of 2010.
Sheriff's Warrants Investigators worked closely with Onondaga County Probation Department, the Federal Bureau of Investigations and the New York / New Jersey Regional Fugitive Task
Force which is comprised of officers from the Onondaga County Sheriff's Office, United States Marshals Service and the New York State Police Warrants Squad.
After several months of searching for Carrasquillo-Fuentes, they were led to the Springfield, Massachusetts area.
Shortly after 6:00 Wednesday morning Federal and Massachusetts authorities took Carrasquillo-Fuentes into custody without incident. He was taken to the Hampden County Jail in Ludlow, Massachusetts where he will remain pending an extradition hearing.
In January 2011, 15-year-old Jesus Carmona of Syracuse was sentenced to ten years to life in prison for his role in the death of Quiones. Carmona was arrested last August on charges of assault, murder, attempted murder, and criminal possession of a weapon.
