TOWN OF ONONDAGA -- Four Onondaga High School students are facing charges after police say they vandalized the school.
Onondaga County Sheriff’s investigators say 18-year-old Michal Burlin of Cole Road and 17-year-old Justin Otis of Bowen Drive went to the school on South Onondaga Road Sunday night and bent a football field goal post beyond repair. Then, deputies say Burlin and Otis - along with 18-year-old Gary Bova of Holmes Road and 18-year-old Colin Sorber of Bussey Road - went back to the school early Tuesday morning and damaged the other goal post. They also allegedly spray painted ‘graphic and vulgar’ graffiti throughout the school grounds, including on the walkway in front of the school.
Deputies say the damage is estimated at $11,000.
All four teens are charged with felony criminal mischief. Burlin, Otis, and Sorber are also charged with misdemeanor making graffiti. The suspects have been arraigned and released to the pre-trial release program.
