SYRACUSE -- A Syracuse teenager is facing charges in a shots fired incident.

Around 1:35 a.m. Thursday, an officer was out patrolling the west side of the city when he heard shots fired along the 700 block of Otisco Street.

He later found a 16-year-old riding a bicycle away from the area where the shots rang out.

Police say the teen had a 9MM handgun in his possession.

He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon and sent to the Justice Center.

CNY Central is not releasing the teen's name due to his age.

No one was hurt.
