ROCHESTER (AP) -- An SUV has hit three school buses in Rochester, sending 11 students to a hospital with injuries that aren't life threatening.
Fire department spokesman Ted Kuppinger says the accident happened just before 2:30 p.m. Thursday when the SUV driver apparently lost control, veered into the oncoming lane, grazed one bus, sideswiped the next and drove into the front of the third.
LaShay Harris of Rural/Metro ambulance service says the injured city elementary school students have bumps, bruises and neck and back injuries.
Kuppinger says the SUV driver, a man in his 50s, didn't want medical treatment and was being questioned by police.
The buses are operated by First Student, a school bus contractor. They each carry about 40 passengers and were mostly full.
