CORNING, STEUBEN CO. (AP) -- Police say a man and a woman have been charged with killing a 26-year-old man inside his upstate New York home last weekend.
State police say 38-year-old Marland Brooks and 28-year-old Samantha Smith, both of Elmira, were charged Monday with second-degree murder in the death of Clark VanEtten of Corning.
Troopers say VanEtten's body was discovered Saturday morning in his home in Corning, in the Southern Tier 75 miles south of Rochester.
Police say VanEtten knew both suspects. Authorities haven't released other details but are holding a news conference Tuesday to discuss the case.
Brooks and Smith were arraigned late Monday night. It couldn't be determined if they had lawyers.
