OTISCO -- The developer of a major construction project in Onondaga County say it is pulling out, and is moving its business to another state.

A $150 million wellness center and resort was planned for 600 acres in Otisco. The project was originally brought to light in March of 2010, but it was not well received in the community.

Dozens of residents signed petitions, put up signs, and held meeting to voice their opposition to the project. They were worried about potential dangers for the water supply as construction crews dug into the watershed.

Tuesday morning, Brig Brown, the CEO of Andor Projects, said the company is moving the resort because of all the negative feedback from the community. She did not want to reveal where the project is moving to.

Brown added there was too much opposition to the project and the area clearly “did not want the jobs” Andor could bring. The project was touted as supplying a possible 300 new jobs to Otisco.
