ROME, ONEIDA COUNTY -- A child is thrown from a car during a crash in the city of Rome.

It happened on State Route 365 Saturday afternoon. Police say 25-year-old Ashley Kivler of Verona was driving a Ford Explorer when she approached a slowing vehicle, and swerved then lost control. The vehicle overturned several times and landed upright.

Police say a seven year old back seat passenger was ejected and suffered a broken femur. Kivler was diagnosed with a fractured shoulder and wrist. The front seat passenger suffered a broken neck.

Police say charges are pending against Kivler.
