AUBURN -- It's been two weeks since an Auburn woman was found dead, and the investigation into the case continues.

29-year-old Katie Socci was last seen June 14th. Her body was found the next day in a field off Dunning Avenue in Auburn.

"We are still working on tips," says Sgt. Joseph DeVietro of the Auburn Police Department. "We are still working day and night on the investigation."

The autopsy report lists Socci's cause of death as "asphyxia due to strangulation and/or suffocation." Sgt. DeVietro says police continue to follow up on leads.

"We're working diligently," he said.

Socci's ex-boyfriend David McNamara remains a "person of interest" in the case. He is being held without bail on forgery charges in an unrelated incident.
