OTEGO, NY (AP) -- An upstate New York woman says a fox bit her two young children as they played on an outdoor trampoline and a fox later killed by her husband is being tested for rabies.
April Worman tells the Daily Star of Oneonta that her 3-year-old daughter and 9-year-old son were playing Monday morning when a gray fox jumped onto the trampoline and bit the girl's legs and her son's left arm several times. Worman says her son grabbed the fox and threw it off the trampoline.
Her husband found a fox that night and shot it near the family's home in the rural Otsego County town of Otego, 65 miles southeast of Syracuse.
She says her children were treated at the hospital in nearby Oneonta and are getting rabies shots.
