SYLVAN BEACH -- State Police are cracking down on illegal drinking in Sylvan Beach.
On Saturday, one person was arrested for underage drinking and 11 people were arrested for having an open container of alcohol. All were were issued appearance tickets.
State Police are reminding anyone visiting the village of Sylvan Beach that it is illegal to possess an open container of alcohol in a public place within the village limits. The only exception is the picnic area to the west of the municipal parking lot on Park Avenue.
