CONSTANTIA -- Oswego County Sheriff's deputies have released the names of the victims in a deadly crash in the Town of Constantia Monday night.

Deputies say 18-year-old Robert Fay, of 128 Shacksbush Road in Bernhards Bay, was driving a 2004 Chevrolet eastbound on Lower Road when he lost control of the car as it was coming out of a curve in the road, about 1/4 of a mile east of Hayes Road.

Investigators say Fay's car careened to the north side of the road, slamming into a sign post, flipping into a ditch, smashing into a tree and landing upside down.

His passenger, 18-year-old Dillan Mueller, of 3314 Fulton Avenue in Central Square, was killed.

Deputies say a curve/speed sign is in place approaching the curve in the road. Investigators say unsafe speed and traffic control disregard appear to be contributing factors in the crash. Deputies are still investigating the crash.

Mueller was a 2010 graduate of Paul V. Moore High School in Central Square. The school district issued condolences on Mueller's death Tuesday, saying "He was an excellent student and very well liked by faculty, staff, and students alike. This is a terrible tragedy for our entire community. Our thoughts and prayers are with his family at this most difficult time."

Central Square Music Department chairman Ron Haldeman also issued a statement on the death of Mueller:

"Dillan Mueller was a very good student and he was a very involved and respected member of the Central Square School District Music Department. He was involved as a performing member in the Wind Ensemble, High School Jazz Band, Vocal Jazz Ensemble, Music Theatre Program and the Winter Percussion Ensemble. Dillan's community involvements included Parade Band and he was also Drum Major for two years for the Central Square Redhawk Regiment Marchng Band and the High School Parade Band. We all grieve the loss of such a fine young man and wish God's love and healing for the family that he leaves behind."

No word yet on funeral arrangements for Mueller.
