SYRACUSE -- The man accused of groping teachers at McKinley-Brighton Elementary school last fall was in court Wednesday morning to plead guilty to two charges against him.
Syracuse Police say Garth Hill walked into McKinley-Brighton last October and fondled a teacher in front of a class filled with students. Police say he then walked down the hallway and groped another teacher before he was confronted by a school administrator and ran off.
Hill's wallet was left behind, which helped police identify him.
Wednesday morning, Hill appeared in Onondaga County Court to plead guilty to one count each of third degree burglary (for entering the school without permission) and first degree sexual abuse (for submitting a teacher to sexual contact by force). He is scheduled to be sentenced on July 27th. Judge Anthony Aloi says he plans to sentence Hill to 12 years to life in prison.
Judge Aloi says Hill has two prior violent felony convictions. Those include second degree assault and attempted criminal possession of a loaded firearm. Aloi says he took those previous convictions into consideration when deciding on a sentence.
