Law goes into effect July 24th
SYRACUSE -- The Syracuse city clerk will open his office on the first day the new same-sex marriage law goes into effect later this month.
The clerk's office will be open Sunday the 24th from 10am-2pm for gay couples to get a marriage license.
The clerk's office is not providing judge's. It is up to individual couples to get a waiver from a state supreme court justice if they don't wait to wait the usual 24 hours after getting the license to get married.
