UTICA -- A Utica man is accused of stealing from his own grandmother.

Utica police say 28-year-old Matthew Harris, of Mildren Avenue, made several transactions on his grandmother's credit card. He's also accused of stealing her jewelry, cash and personal checks.

Harris is charged with two counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, a felony, and petit larceny.

Is a felony charge appropriate in this case? If convicted, what would be an adequate sentence? Leave your thoughts below.
