SYRACUSE -- The NYS Canal Corporation has officially transferred the Syracuse Inner Harbor land to the city.

The city asked several months ago for the state to transfer the land to the city. The Canal Corp. Asked Mayor Stephanie Miner some questions about the possible transfer over the weekend, and then officially voted on it today. It was supposed to happen later this week, but the Canal Corp. moved it up.

Mayor Miner tells us there were a lot of unsuccessful efforts to try and develop the land, and Miner asked Governor Andrew Cuomo to help with the land transfer.

Miner calls this a "major development" in the effort to revitalize the Inner Harbor.
