We are less than three weeks away and the 2nd Annual Canine Carnival is progressing and growing nicely! Last year, our inaugural year, we had 15 animal rescues and 10 business vendors. So far, for this years Canine Carnival we are at more than 30 rescues and 15 business vendors of animal goods and services….and still growing. Canine Carnival is the place to be if you’re looking to adopt a new pet, or to simply check out breeds since we’ll have so many different breeds there.

IF you know of an animal rescue organization or a business that would like to participate, we have a limited number of booth spaces left. Please email me at wmahar@cnycentral.com.

If you love animals and a good time, you’ll want to attend the second annual Canine Carnival at the Wegmans Good Dog Park in Liverpool on Saturday August 6th from 10am – 2pm.  Admission is FREE!  Our inaugural event last year had nearly 3000 people attending, dozens of vendors and animal rescue organizations and more than 100 dogs and cats finding homes. What a success!

Like last year, we have a variety of fun things we’ll have going on for this fun event. Several dozen vendors of animal products, many animal rescue and adoption organizations, pets for adoption, music, a wide variety of food and drinks, games, prizes, animal demonstrations, silent auction, face painting, balloons, VIP and celebrity dog walkers and a whole lot more!

CNYcentral and Wegmans are the primary sponsors for our event, and I sure appreciate everything they have done. They truly are caring about the community and involved.

In case you aren’t aware, I began this non profit animal welfare organization, with the help of Lisa Chelenza ( of TK-99 radio and Pet Pointers on YNN  TV ) and a few other great, animal loving people,  three and a half years ago after my mother passed away at the age of 85. She loved animals, as I do, so I wanted to establish an umbrella-type foundation which could raise money and distribute funds to a wide variety of people and organizations that have good intentions in helping our animal friends. To date we have distributed nearly $15,000 to 15 different animal welfares and rescues in our community and across central NY.
