CANANDAIGUA -- A Canandaigua man is accused of collecting thousands of dollars in unemployment benefits while he was working.
State police say 53-year-old Glenn Bickel, of 198 Gibson Street, collected more than $4,000 worth of unemployment benefits through the State Labor Department from May 2009 through January 2010. At the time, police say, Bickel was gainfully employed ten different times when he submitted unemployment claims.
He's facing ten counts of falsifying business records and one count of grand larceny, both felonies.
Bickel was arraigned in Canandaigua City Court and sent to the Ontario County Jail in lieu of $5,000 cash bail or $10,000 bond. He's scheduled to reappear in court on Friday.
