SYRACUSE -- Update 11:40am Friday:

Police need your help finding a 70 year old woman who went missing during yesterday's record heat in Central New York. Patricia Gettman has not been heard from since she last talked with family members at 9 o'clock Wednesday night. She was supposed to meet her daughter, Mary Smid at her Otisco Road near Tully Thursday morning but never showed up.

Her husband, Michael Gettman tells CNYcentral's Jim Kenyon that he and his two daughters have been driving along rural roads between Syracuse and Tully since yesterday. Gettman believes his wife may have gotten lost and drove her car off the road where it became obscured by high vegetation.  "Obviously it's pretty tough.  The worst part about it is not knowing where she is." Gettman said.

Gettman says his wife recently underwent spinal surgery.  Police are also worried about complications due to that medical procedure. Syracuse Police spokesman, Sgt. Gay Bulinski says there's no indication of foul play at this time.

Daughter, Mary Smid says the past two days have been "stressful and anxious.  "I really do believe though that God is in control and that he has my mom somewhere.  He knows right where she is so I just keep praying he'll open someone's eyes and they'll find her car."

Bulinski says police have exhausted all leads and are continuing to look for Gettman who recently moved to Syracuse from Central Square. She may be operating a green 2000 Toyota Corolla four door sedan, with a New York License Plate OBT-690. Gettman is 5'4," 130 pounds, with black hair, blue eyes, and may be wearing glasses. Bulinski is asking anyone with information about her disappearance to call the Syracuse Police Department at 442-5222.
