SYRACUSE -- In today's Facebook Story of the Day, you wanted to learn more about a new study on the impact of working mothers on their kids.

Researchers in London studied children in three sweeps -- infants, three-year-olds and five-year-olds -- and found there are no significant detrimental effects on a child's social or emotional development if their moms work during their early years.

It's no surprise to working moms we spoke with today. Karyn Burns has two young children and said she knows being a working mother is like having two full-time jobs. She said she wouldn't have it any other way.

"It's kind of nice being able to be passionate about your job," she said. "You're here 8 hours a day, then you go home and I'm passionate about my family."

Chris Wickham is also a working mother and is about to send her 17-year-old daughter off to college in the Fall. She said being a working mom presents challenges, but wouldn't trade it for anything. She said it comes down to the individual mothers to raise their children the right way.

"You've got to have good parenting skills and there's no book," said Wickham. "You just kind of got to follow your heart, your gut and do what's best for the kids and give them good laws and guidelines to live by."

Both working moms we spoke with said doing what's best for your child can be simple -- like not sweating the small stuff and being good communicators.

What about you? Are you a working mother...do you know one? What tips do you have to balance work and family?
