3 cars involved in Friday afternoon accident
An Auburn man is dead after his car swerved into the oncoming lane in the Town of Tyre on Friday afternoon. State Police say 62 year old Dave Nevidomsky was trapped in his Honda Van, after hitting an oncoming car head-on, on State Routes 5/20 between the Nice n Easy and the Montezuma Wildlife Refuge entrance. A third car, behind the one that was hit, swerved to avoid the crash, rolled over and landed on its roof.
Troopers say Nevidomsky was freed from the wreckage and helicoptered to University Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival in Syracuse. The drivers of the other two vehicles have non-life threatening injuries. Troopers had an accident reconstruction unit at the scene, and are still trying to figure why the car swerved into oncoming traffic.
