CORTLAND -- Police in Cortland County are asking for the public’s help tracking down a man accused of hitting a van carrying a mother and her kids last week.
According to sheriff’s deputies, 29-year-old Christopher S. Humphrey is the man responsible for a hit-and-run crash that left Lisa Duvall of Tully and her three children injured on July 18. Police say that morning Duvall had pulled her minivan off of Route 11 in Homer to attend to a child in the back when the van was struck from behind by a 1992 Honda Accord driven by Humphrey. The Duvall family and Humphrey’s passenger, Justin Strine of Marietta, were hospitalized for serious injuries while Humphrey allegedly fled the scene on foot.
Police say Humphrey is wanted on charges of leaving the scene of a motor vehicle accident with injuries, four counts of second degree assault, and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child. Should police add any other charges to this case?
Do you know Christopher Humphrey, or anything about this case? Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Humphrey is asked to call the Cortland County Sheriff’s Department at 607-753-3311.
