CANTON (AP) -- A 31-year-old northern New York man has been convicted of sexually assaulting two women, a verdict that prompted the defendant to punch himself in the face and bang his head on a table.

The Watertown Daily Times  that a St. Lawrence County jury took just under an hour Monday to convict Adam Hadfield of Gouverneur  of all charges, including unlawful imprisonment, menacing, kidnapping, sexual abuse and rape.

Hadfield sexually assaulted a woman in 2008 and raped another woman the next year.

During the 2009 crime, authorities say Hadfield chased the victim's car, ran her vehicle off the road, pulled her into his truck and raped her.

When the jury began confirming its verdicts, Hadfield punched himself in the face and banged his head on the defendant's table before court officers restrained him.
