'Painted Pony,' a six year old Boer Goat who stood like a statue while she was being groomed on our Weekend Today in CNY on Sunday morning, is a 'poster child' for this year's Empire Farm Days.  Craig Todd, a goat producer, and his son Chris, who was 'fitting' her--showing how to get ready to show--say the goat business is booming here in Central New York, that they can't even supply all the orders from the Rochester and Syracuse areas from their Locke farm.
Melanie Wickham, who's Empire Farm Days' manager, says the Todds will be demonstrating how they handle their goats, in part because a 'spontaneous' demonstration at last year's event was such a hit.  They're also adding more horses and other farm demonstrations to show the changing nature of NY agriculture.

Empire Farm Days opens Tuesday and runs through Thursday at the Lott Farm in Seneca Falls.  600+ exhibitors are expected in the Northeast's largest agriculture expo.  Admission is free, and parking is $10/car.  Hint: bring comfortable waterproof shoes!  Check their website for the demo schedule and more.
