ALBANY (AP) -- The latest standardized test scores for New York state students will track progress in raising achievement in grades three through eight.
The examinations scheduled for release Monday tested students in the knowledge of math and English. They were taken earlier this year.
The state Education Department will release statewide trends as well as specific results for schools. The tests allow educators to track schools are that improving, remaining stagnant, and falling back.
State Education Department officials then investigate why, and pass along any innovations that helped some schools progress.
The results are scheduled to be released Monday at 11 a.m.
