SENECA FALLS (AP) -- As many as 70,000 people are expected to attend the three-day Empire Farm Days exhibition in central New York, the biggest of its kind in the Northeast.
Many farmers will come to Tuesday's opening of the 78th annual farm show to do business - if not to buy, then at least to learn about newfangled agricultural tools and techniques.
The show also features seminars for food producers from across New York and beyond. It also draws many people simply curious about the latest advances in milking equipment, irrigation, seeds, farm safety and myriad other agricultural topics.
About 600 exhibitors have signed up.
Since 1988, the show has been staged at Ralph Lott's 300-acre family farm on Route 414 south of Seneca Falls. Admission is free, and parking is $10.
