AUBURN -- A local man is accused of conspiring to kill two people.

Michael Coe was indicted on felony charges of conspiracy to commit murder and criminal solicitation for allegedly soliciting others to commit murder.

Coe was arraigned on the indictment, which was unsealed in Cayuga County Court.

It alleges that Coe, while behind bars at the Auburn Correctional Facility, conspired to murder two people between June and July of this year. Following his arraignment, he was sent back to prison without bail.

According to the indictment obtained by CNY Central, Coe "...solicited others to murder 'J.C.' and 'E.P.', including speaking with others about the manner in which he wished 'J.C.' and 'E.P.' murdered, writing multiple letters with instructions about the address, appearance and location of the intended victims."

Court papers also say Coe went as far as to create drawings depicting how he wanted the murders carried out and arranged the transfer of money to pay for the murders.

The arrest stems from a joint investigation by the New York State Police Special Investigations Unit, the Department of Corrections Inspector General's Office and the Cayuga County District Attorney's office.

The case is scheduled to be back in court on October 18th.

If convicted, Coe faces a maximum of 12 and a half to 25 years in state prison. Does that sound like an appropriate sentence? Leave your thoughts below.
