CANANDAIGUA (AP) -- Authorities have charged a western New York woman after her 3-year-old child was found walking alone in a parking lot.
Police say they were called to a residence in Canandaigua around 7:30 p.m. Monday after someone reported that a toddler wearing only a diaper was wandering alone in an apartment building's parking lot. The child was unharmed when officers arrived.
Officials tell local media outlets that 21-year-old Chelsea Hacker of Canandaigua didn't make proper arrangements for her child while she went to the Rochester airport with some friends.
She has been charged with endangering the welfare of a child.
Hacker is free on her own recognizance and is due back in Canandaigua City Court next week to answer to the charges.
