SCRIBA -- Federal regulators say the reactor at a nuclear power plant on New York's Lake Ontario shoreline has been shut down for the second time in less than a week.

The Nuclear Regulatory Commission says a leak in a half-inch line associated with a feedwater pump forced control room operators at Nine Mile Point 2 outside Oswego to shut down the reactor early Thursday morning. The NRC says the reactor was being returned to service from last Saturday's early morning shutdown and was operating at about 15 percent when it was shut down again.

NRC officials say the shutdown went smoothly. Do these multiple shutdowns concern you at all? Or is this just business as usual?

Constellation Energy Nuclear Group owns the plant in Scriba, 33 miles northwest of Syracuse. Company officials say last weekend's shutdown came after a leak was detected in a containment structure surrounding the reactor vessel.

Just last month, Constellation Energy and IBEW Local 97 came to terms on a new collective bargaining agreement after a two and a half week strike. The strike affected more than 500 employees.
