Here is this week's advisory on road work projects in Central New York from the New York State Department of Transportation. 

 

LONG TERM SPECIAL EVENT IN ONONDAGA COUNTY

Parkway Sundays (Exclusive Access for Pedestrians and Bicyclists)

9 am to 12 Noon Sunday Mornings, from now through Sunday, August 28.

Route 370 Eastbound and Westbound: "Onondaga Lake Parkway" section closed to all motorized traffic.

Details for Detour: Utilize Old Liverpool Road for both directions of travel.

 

SHORT TERM PROJECTS: ONONDAGA COUNTY

-Overhead Sign Maintenance

Monday, August 15, 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

I-690 Eastbound Mainline: Reduced to one lane, left and center lane closed from1 ½ mile west of Exit 6 (Route 695), continuing as a left lane closure for an additional 100 feet west of the exit. Access to and from Route 695 will be maintained.

-Bridge Rail Replacement

Monday August 15 and Tuesday, August 16, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. daily.

Route 690 Northbound Mainline: Reduced to one lane, right lane closed approaching and crossing over the Route 370/Seneca River Bridge in Baldwinsville.

Access to the Route 370 off-ramp will be maintained.

-Installation of Temporary 3 Color Traffic Signal for State Fair

Tuesday, August 16, 9 a.m. to 2 p.m.

I-690 Eastbound and Westbound Mainline: Reduced to one lane, one direction of travel at a time in the area of the State Fair Orange parking lot exit driveway near Exit 6 (Route 695).

-Pavement and Drainage Repairs

Weekdays through Friday, August 19, 7:30 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

Route 31 Eastbound and Westbound: Single lane alternating direction traffic controlled by flag person between River Road and Grimes Road in the Town of Elbridge.

-Guide Rail Repair

Monday August 15 and Tuesday, August 16, 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. daily.

I-690 Eastbound and Westbound Mainline: Reduced to one lane, left lane closed between Exit 2 (Jones Road) and Exit 4 (John Glenn Blvd.)

-Bridge Rail Replacement

Wednesday, August 17, through Friday, August 19, 9:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Daily.

 

SHORT TERM PROJECTS: CAYUGA COUNTY

-Paving

6 a.m. to 5 p.m weekdays through Thursday, September 1

Route 38 Northbound and Southbound: Single lane alternating direction traffic controlled by flag persons between Route 370 and the Town of Victory/Town of Conquest town line at the specific area of which the actual paving is occurring between these two points.

-Highway Maintenance

7 a.m. to 3 p.m. weekdays through Thursday, September 1

Route 90 Northbound and Southbound: Single lane alternating direction traffic controlled by flag persons between Route 34 and Route 38 in the actual area of which work is occurring between these two points.

 

LONG TERM CONTINUOUS PROJECTS: OSWEGO COUNTY

-Bridge Repair

Continuous (24 hours a day/7 days a week) now through approximately August 31, 2011.

I-81 Southbound: Reduced to one lane of travel, left and center lanes closed,

approaching and crossing over the Barge Canal/ Oneida Lake Outlet Bridge in Brewerton.

-Bridge Repair

Continuous (24 hours a day/7 days a week) now through approximately September 30, 2011.

I-81 Northbound Mainline: Left and center lanes closed approaching and crossing under the Bartell Road Bridge at Exit 31 (Brewerton) and over the Barge Canal/Oneida Lake Outlet Bridge in Brewerton. Access to and from Exit 31 (Bartell Road-Brewerton) will be maintained.
