LYSANDER -- A Syracuse man is dead after being struck by a car on Route 370 in Lysander, just south of the 690 on ramp.

Onondaga County Sheriff's Deputies said the victim, 77-year-old Vincent Valenti parked his pick-up truck and trailer halfway off the right shoulder, and was putting a riding lawn tractor on the trailer when he and the trailer were struck from behind.

The driver of the other car, 23-year-old Andrew Phillips of Baldwinsville, was ticketed for driving on the shoulder.

Investigators said he may have been blinded by the sun at the time of the crash.
