You must be over 21, non-skating spots, too
Oswego's roller derby team is finishing up its first year, and now it's looking for more than a few new members.
Victoria Usherwood Gailinas, who founded the team, is looking forward to Saturday night's matchup, at Oswego's Crisafulli Rink, against the ManchVegas Roller Girls, a team she also founded--talk about a grudge match!
But, Sunday evening, she'll be heading up a recruitment effort: she'd like to have four full teams going in Oswego, so needs more women (over 21) who want to learn to skate, but also non-skating volunteers, including referees and officials.
The Sunday session is at Oswego's Midtown Plaza, 7 - 8:30pm, and it's not all serious: they'll be selling team logo's items and memorabilia, too--including Oz Roller Girl eyeshadow (who knew?)--all produced by local artisans. See the Roller Girl website for more details.
