SYRACUSE -- A teenager is in fair condition after a crash involving two pickup trucks.
It happened shortly before 7 p.m. Sunday night at the intersection of Northern Boulevard and East Taft Road.
A 1992 Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck driven operated by Daniel Dupra, 17, of North Syracuse, crashed into a 2005 Ford F350 pickup truck driven by William Perrigo, 37, of Syracuse, according to county sheriffs deputies.
Dupra was traveling south on Northern Boulevard when he ran the red light at the intersection, according to witness reports. His truck smashed into the passenger side of Perrigo's truck, who was traveling west on East Taft Road, according to investigators.
In all, five people were taken to area hospitals.
Dupra was treated at Crouse Hospital for non-life threatening injuries. His teenage passenger, Zachary Crossman was taken to Upstate University Hospital in critical condition. He has since been upgraded to fair condition, according to a nursing supervisor.
Perrigo and passengers Madison Perrigo, 12, and Tara Hemmingway, 19, of Syracuse, suffered non-life threatening were also transported to Upstate University Hospital.
Deputies issued Dupra traffic tickets for passing a red light and speeding.
