CAMILLUS -- Right now, the lawn in front of St. Joseph's Church is like any other lawn around Central New York  -- just covered in grass.

But by this time next weekend, folks at the church are hoping that green lawn is turned into a sea of red, white and blue -- covered in American flags.

The goal is to sell 911 flags to commemorate the 10th anniversary of the September 11th attacks.  So far, they're halfway there.

"I think it's pretty cool that we might actually get 911 flags to put out on the lawn," said Stephen Serbun.

Part of the money raised will help fund a youth group trip the National Catholic Youth Conference.  The rest of the money will be sent to a food pantry in Manhattan.

"Down there everyone's been through so much and anything we can do to help is just great," said Amanda Jock.

On the night of September 10th, the kids plan to put all the flags on the lawn of the church.  Then, the following morning, everyone driving down West Genesee Street will see the display of patriotism and remember that day.

Flags are still on sale for $10 and come with the option of a yellow flag to write the name of a loved one or friend or even a message as Central New York and the country remembers those who lost their lives nearly 10 years ago.
